International Womens Day 2017

International Women’s Day is held globally on 8 March each year to recognise and celebrate the achievements of the many wonderful and inspiring women around the world. The theme for this year’s celebration is ‘Empower a Woman, Empower a Nation’, which recognises gender equality as economic and social imperatives. It is an established fact that an increase in women’s participation and leadership in our communities provides benefits for the whole of society. There are many events and activities planned throughout the coming week, so feel free to find one near you and share in celebrating “all things women”. There is still a lot of work to be done!
