A WITWA member from 2003 during her previous career as a programmer, Michelle rejoined in 2016 after a career change to teaching. With the introduction of Digital Technologies to the national primary and secondary school curriculum in 2017, Michelle used her IT industry background to create inspirational new courses for the students. Currently teaching at St Mark’s School, she is a Mentor with the Girls Programming Network, and also runs Professional Learning workshops for other educators. Michelle presented at the 2019 FutureSchools conference in Melbourne, and was ECAWA’s 2019 Digital Technologies Teacher of the Year. As part of the first Master of Education (Digital Technologies) cohort at Sydney University, Michelle plans to use this knowledge to help other WA educators.
