Our Techtrails STEM & Future Skills Program is back in schools!
On Friday the 6th of November we visited Karratha Senior High School in another regional WA Techtrails incursion. The visit aimed to inspire students to think about how technology will shape the way they live, play and work in the future. We brought together women working in STEM to share their Technology and STEM stories with students from across years 9 and 10.
Thank you to Kinetic IT! This incursion was made possible with support from our long-term sponsor Kinetic IT. On the day Erin and Krida presented the Career Wheel activity and shared their own tech career journeys
Thank you to Zachary Matthews and the wonderful team atKarratha Senior High School for welcoming our Techtrails Program.
With an amazing line-up of local talent the students at Karratha Senior High School heard from women who work in their community, about career pathways in city planning, to solar energy, and the resource industry. Students also go to experience our Virtual Reality activity where they learnt about Virtual Reality, and gained insights into how this technology will be used in future jobs.
Our speakers for the day included:
- Brigette McDowell – Cheditha Energy
- Donna Stace – Rio Tinto
- Cassie Beattie – Woodside
- Stephanie Smith – City of Karratha
- Erin Magee and Krida from Kinetic IT
Students gained a valuable appreciation for how STEM plays a role in their futures – with some even securing contacts for future work experience!
A big thank you to all involved!
