About Alexandra Myer

Faced with the challenge of a lack of STEM subject selections when she started her new career as a computing teacher at Ashdale Secondary College in 2013, Alex used her industry background to create and implement inspirational new courses for the students.

She established an after-school AV club and provided meaningful experiences by engaging students in successful real-world projects, some of which have received national recognition. Alex consistently demonstrates a fresh, innovative approach to improving education outcomes and strives to make a lasting impact that reaches beyond the College.

Alex was the driving force behind the inaugural Ashdale STEM expo which inspired over 1700 visitors and involved many partnerships from both industry and further education, resulting in newspaper articles, letters of recognition and praise for her leadership of this outstanding whole-school initiative.
